Monty Python

Monty Python (også omtalt som the Pythons)^[1][2] var en britisk komikergruppe, der blev dannet i 1969 bestående af Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones og Michael Palin. Gruppen blev kendte for deres sketchshow Monty Pythons Flyvende Cirkus, der blev sendt på BBC fra 1969 til 1974. Deres arbejde udviklede sig herefter til en større samling af liveshows, film, albums, bøger og musicals. Deres indflydelse på komedier er blevet sammenlignet med the Beatles' indflydelse på musik.^[3][4][5] Their sketch show has been called "an important moment in the evolution of television comedy".^[6]
