Alvin Botes (born 9 September 1973) is a South African African National Congress (ANC) politician and International Relations Scholar. He hails from the Northern Cape Province of South Africa, and has been serving as the Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation since May 2019. He became a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa in February 2018. He serves in one of the most significant multilateral organizations, the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organisation (CTBTO), responsible for the nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament framework and for the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). He is a Member of the CTBTO’s Group of Eminent Persons (GEM).

He was the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Social Development from 2009 to 2013 and the MEC for Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs from 2013 to 2018. Botes served as a Member of the Northern Cape Provincial Legislature from 2009 to 2018. He served since 2017 as a Member of the ANC National Executive Committee (NEC).
