Butig, officially the Municipality of Butig (Maranao: Dalm a Butig), is a 6th class municipality in the province of Lanao del Sur, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 22,768 people.[3]

This ancient and royal town of the Maranaos became a municipality under Executive Order No. 21 issued on June 25, 1963, during the term of President Diosdado Macapagal.
