- This template will link to a Wikipedia page about a Wikipedia user, and to that user's userpage, talkpage, and contribution history.
- This template expects at least one parameter: the user's username. If not provided, this defaults to "Example".
- If the page name is not identical to the username, enter the page name as a second parameter. If User:JohnDoe is the topic of "John W. Doe", use
{{notable user|JohnDoe|John W. Doe}}to link the article to the user. - The sequence can be overridden by the use of the variables
User=andArticle=: both{{notable user|user=JohnDoe|article=John W. Doe}}and{{notable user|article=John W. Doe|user=JohnDoe}}will be processed correctly.
