Founded in 1943, XCMG currently ranks first in the Chinese construction machinery industry, 3rd in the world, 4th in China's top 100 machinery enterprises, and 409th in the world's top 500 brands.

XCMG Group’s subsidiary, XCMG Construction Machinery Co. Ltd., was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange SZSE: 000425 in 1996.
