The Taoiseach (/ˈtʃəx/ (audio speaker iconlisten)),[2] also referred to as An Taoiseach ([ən t̪ˠiːʃʲəx]),[3] is the head of the government in Ireland. The term prime minister is not used by the Irish media.[4]
