Astrofizik, gök fiziği ya da yıldız fiziği,[1] gök cisimlerinin, uzaydaki konumu ile devinimlerindense yapılarını saptamak adına fizik ve kimya ilkelerini kullanan gökbilim dalı.[2][3] Bu incelemeler için tek bilgi kaynağı gök cisimlerinden yayılan ışık ve diğer elektromanyetik dalgalardır. Bu dalgaları tespit eden aletler vasıtasıyla toplanan bilgiler, fizik ve kimya bilimlerinde elde edilen sonuçlarla karşılaştırılarak değerlendirilir ve yorumlanır.
