DeviantArt, historically stylized as deviantART, is an American online art community that features artwork, videography, and photography, launched on August 7, 2000, by Angelo Sotira, Scott Jarkoff, and Matthew Stephens among others.
DeviantArt, Inc. is headquartered in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles, California.[1] DeviantArt had about 36 million visitors annually by 2008.[2] In 2010, DeviantArt users were submitting about 1.4 million favorites and about 1.5 million comments daily.[3] In 2011, it was the thirteenth largest social network with about 3.8 million weekly visits.[4] Several years later, in 2017, the site had more than 25 million members and more than 250 million submissions.[5] On February 23, 2017, the company announced it was being acquired by Israeli web company Wix.com in a $36 million deal.[6]
