Wikipedia:W Awards

The W Awards (Golden W Award and Platinum W Award) are elite accolades recognizing the highest ability to bring content to the masses. The original Golden W means that you've had content in all of the original areas of the Main Page: Today's featured article, In the news..., Did you know..., On this day..., and Today's featured picture. The Golden W predates the 2011 main page expansion plans by over a year, with only one recipient (TonyTheTiger) in that time. In 2011, both WP:FLs and WP:FSs were accepted to be added to the main page. FS eventually went inactive and never made it to the main page, but WP:TAFI was briefly added to the main page in 2013. To retain the spirit of the Golden W, a Platinum W award will be awarded to those who have added content to all areas of the main page at the time of the nomination.

For each of the main page areas, you must have been a major editor of the article and a major participant in the article's nomination for that area as applicable (POTD has no nomination and OTD has a sort of submission process for hooks that get evaluated). I.E., this is an award for not only creating meritorious content, but also for having the ability to maneuver it onto the main page. Thus, to earn this award you must be intimately involved in both the creation of the content and the process of getting the content onto the main page.

Content does not have to be featured at the time of the nomination and if it loses featured status after the award, the award status is unaffected because this award recognizes the achievement of the main page appearance rather than the featured content itself. You must document that you have made a successful contribution to each section of the main page, not that the content currently is featured.

Read the criteria below for achieving the Golden W Award. If you believe you meet the requirements, you may apply for this award via the "Nominations" section.
