The Battle of Oramar or Oramar Expedition,[3] was a battle that took place in the summer of 1917 between the Assyrians of Agha Petros and the Kurds of Soto Agha,[4] where the Assyrians defeated Soto and captured Oramar.[5][6][2][7][8] The Assyrian forces initiated the attack with the goal of capturing Soto Agha and neutralizing his stronghold, which stood as a threat for Assyrian communities in the area.
