Mera Pyara is a service started by Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) to reunite lost children and adults with their families. It is powered by the Virtual Center for Child Safety [1] initiative of PSCA. There are a lot of lost children in Pakistan being kept in orphanages across the country. Acccording to Roshni Helpline NGO, 2633 childen went missing in the country in the year 2023, out of which 600 are still missing [2]. This service is used by calling on 15 from within Punjab province. People can also access the website www.merapyara.pk to upload pictures of lost people [3]. The service uses Artificial Intelligence to match lost and found persons using facial recognition and whereabouts matching. The service is being used by Punjab Police [4], Punjab Government [5] and mentioned in the press [6] [7].
