"Thiruvudayada"(Thiru Udayada) refers to a traditional cloth or decorative item, often used in Kerala, especially during Vishu festival, for Vishu Kani (a ritual display) and other religious or cultural occasions.[1]It is a cloth or decorative item, typically made of cloth and decorated with silky designs, used in Vishu Kani displays. It is a symbol of prosperity and good fortune during the Vishu festival, along with other items like Krishna idols, fruits, vegetables, and flowers.[2]It was also used in temples. There was a custom of submitting "Thiruvudayada" to the idols of deities and that was the main duty of Veluthedath Nair, which is a temple oriented Nair sub-caste.[3][4]
