International students or exchange students, also known as foreign students, are students who undertake all or part of their secondary or tertiary education in a country other than their own.
In 2022, there were over 6.9 million international students, up from 5.12 million in 2016. The most popular destinations were in the Anglosphere. Three countries in particular received 39% of international students:[1] the United States (with 1,126,690 international students), Canada (842,760 students), and the United Kingdom (758,855 students).
