The Invictus Games is an international multi-sport event first held in 2014, for wounded, injured and sick military service personnel, both serving and veterans. The word 'Invictus' is Latin for 'unconquered', chosen as an embodiment of the fighting spirit of the wounded, injured and sick service personnel and what they can achieve, post-injury.[1]

The Invictus Games were founded by Prince Harry. He was joint patron of The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. He set up his Endeavour fund within the Royal Foundation in 2012 to support injured service personnel, because of HIS fund he was invited to the Warrior games in the US, that gave him the Inspiration for the Invictus Games. On his return to UK he directed the Royal Foundation to make the games happen. [1][2]
