Lionsgate Films (spelled as Lions Gate until 2005, and formely Cinépix Film Properties until 1998) is a Canadian-American[2] film production and distribution company founded in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on June 15, 1962. It has been owned by Lionsgate from 1997 to 2024, and Lionsgate Studios (which spun off its television and film business) since 2024, and is now headquartered in Santa Monica, California.

Lionsgate is the largest and most successful mini-major film studio in North America. The studio focuses on foreign and independent films and has distributed various commercially successful film franchises, including Saw, The Hunger Games, Rambo, Divergent, The Punisher, John Wick, Madea, Blair Witch, Now You See Me, Hostel, The Expendables, Sinister, The Twilight Saga, Step Up, and Den of Thieves.
