Valentina Golubenko (Russian: Валентина Голубенко; born 29 July 1990)[1][2] is a Russian-born chess player playing for Estonia and Croatia, holding the FIDE title of Woman Grandmaster (WGM). She was world champion in the girls under 18 category in 2008.[3] Golubenko is the first and only world youth chess champion from Estonia thus far.[3] Although she spent her early life playing in Estonia, Golubenko had moved to Croatia as she was not qualified to represent Estonia owing to her Russian citizenship.[3][4][5]
